Go Behind The Scenes at the Lake County History Center to see areas and artifacts not open to the public. Limited availabillty due to Covid-friendly environment. Masks required. Jjoin us for one of our Behind the Scenes Tours, which offers participants the opportunity to explore portions of our beautiful 37,000 square foot home, that are generally not open to the public. The 144 year old structure which has been home to our Lake County Historical Society (LCHS) for over 10 years has a very colorful past and vital present! During a tour you will: Hear the stories of the long ago residents who lived in the Lake County Poor House. Find out what brought them here and what life was like for them.Discover how LCHS saved this beautiful, historic home from destruction and modified it for its own useExplore areas not open to the public to see artifacts not in our museum.Gain an understanding of how present staff and volunteers fulfill the LCHS mission to collect, preserve and interpret our county’s rich history for future generations.
