Participate in a walking tour of the Battle of Dam No. 1 site in Newport News Park. Participate in a walking tour led by Newport News Historic Sites' historian J. Michael Moore of a portion of the Battle of Dam No. 1 site in Newport News Park. Learn about the events leading up to the April 16, 1862 battle in this scenic setting. Group size is limited and masks are required for all participants. Social distancing measures will be in place. This tour is appropriate for those over the age of 12 and will involve moderate walking. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be re-scheduled and/or refunds will be issued.
