Description

Mezcal Winter Camp - Week 4: Pechugas Mezcal Winter Camp - Week 4Thursday, February 25, 6:00 - 7:30 PM Have you explored the world of pechugas? Pechugas, artisanal mezcals traditionally consumed during rite of passage celebrations like baptisms, marriages, and quinceañeras, are made by distilling mezcal with indigenous seasonal fruits and raw meat or botanicals suspended over the still. These mezcal expressions are truly special and celebratory, each one based on a family recipe, steeped in tradition. Week 4 will feature pechugas from various places in Mexico, including Oaxaca, Guerrero and Michoacan. Attendees will meet via Zoom and discuss different aspects of the world of agave spirits while tasting five specially selected spirits, each one a generous 50mL pour. Lou Bank is one of the hosts of the Agave Road Trip podcast and founder of SACRED, a USA-based, 501c3 not-for-profit that uses traditional and artisanal agave spirits from rural Mexico to help improve the quality of life in the communities where those spirits are made.
