Mezcal Winter Camp - Week 3: Basics Around Mexico Mezcal Winter Camp - Week 3Thursday, February 18, 6:00 - 7:30 PM Our next Mezcal Winter Camp session with agave spirit expert Lou Bank explores the variety of agave spirits all around Mexico! Taste tequila from Jalisco and a range of mezcals from Oaxaca, Michoacan, Durango and Guerrero. Week 3 features tastes sure to expand your mezcal experience and knowledge...and possibly even plan your next agave-inspired trip to Mexico! Attendees will meet via Zoom and discuss different aspects of the world of agave spirits while tasting five selected spirits, each one a generous 50mL pour. We'll be tasting: Tequila Gran Dovejo Blanco (Blue Weber agave from Jalisco)Sombra Mezcal (Espadín agave from Oaxaca)La Luna Mezcal (Cupreata agave from Michoacan)Amaras Cupreata (Cupreat agave from Guerrero)Cenizo Colonial Hacienda Dolores (Cenizo agave from Durango)Lou Bank is one of the hosts of the Agave Road Trip podcast and founder of SACRED, a USA-based, 501c3 not-for-profit that uses traditional and artisanal agave spirits from rural Mexico to help improve the quality of life in the communities where those spirits are made.
