Junior Building Custodian

The Junior Custodian will be responsible for performing custodial tasks such as but not inclusive to dusting, washing glass and other surfaces, mopping, vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, and other general cleaning and custodial tasks through the entire building and its exterior. This job requires the incumbents to works cooperatively with guest and staff to protect the Library property and assets and ensure general safety. Incumbents must have a good understanding of the value of good maintenance practices and customer service. All work must be done with pride and in a professional manner at all times. Incumbents must be able to problem solve, work independently, work cooperatively as a team member and carry out the work and procedures of the Director of Public Buildings and the Library Director. Minimal Qualifications/Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. At least 2 years of experience in custodial services. Three years’ experience preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and able to pass a CORI/SORI and fingerprint background check. Must have basic computer skills. Maximum lifting requirements is 45 pounds. This is a full time (40 hours) union position. Hours are Tuesday through Friday 3 pm to 11 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Starting salary is $47,670.32 with excellent benefits package.
