Natick To Host Coronavirus Vaccine Clinics, Opens Registration

NATICK, MA — Natick on Thursday morning invited residents to preregister for the town's first two clinics in phase two of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. The clinics will take place on Feb. 9 and 11 at the senior center. Residents over age 75 can preregister either on the town's website or by calling 508-647-6540 (option 6) from 10 a.m. Thursday on. However, officials warned vaccine doses are extremely limited. The state is giving out about 100 doses to towns Natick's size. The town will be giving the Moderna version of the vaccine, which comes in two doses taken about a month apart. The second phase of the vaccine rollout began on Monday, and only people over age 75 are eligible. People in phase one — including health care workers and first responders — are also still eligible to get vaccines. There are other vaccination options in the area. CVS stores in Sudbury and Wayland are offering inoculations, although appointments are limited. The state also has vaccination sites farther away at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and Fenway Park. You can find a map of local options here (a site at Keefe Tech in Framingham is only open to that city's residents). More groups will soon become eligible for the vaccine in phase two, including teachers, people over age 65, food service workers and people with two or more special medical conditions.
