WOONSOCKET, RI — CVS Health will begin to administer COVID-19 vaccines to eligible residents on Feb 11 at four pharmacy locations in Rhode Island, including one in Woonsocket, said a news release from the company.
The rollout is part of an initial 11 state rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and includes approximately 335 CVS Pharmacy locations nationwide. The other three Rhode Island locations are in East Greenwich, Warren, and Westerly and the state will initially have about 3,400 doses total from the federal pharmacy partnership program.
"One of our greatest strengths as a company is our presence in communities across the county, which makes us an ideal partner for administering vaccines in a safe, convenient, and familiar manner," said Karen S. Lynch, President and Chief Executive Officer of CVS Health, in a statement.
"We continue to be grateful for the commitment of our frontline colleagues whose dedication has allowed us to deliver care and peace of mind throughout the pandemic," she continued.
Vaccination appointments at the Woonsocket CVS will be available for booking as early as Feb. 9, depending on when vaccine shipments are received. Individuals will be required to meet state criteria and must register in advance through the pharmacy.
CVS Health said it will expand its vaccination efforts to more locations and add more appointments as additional supply becomes available.
