WEST CHESTER, PA — A Coatesville man who admitted shooting a man in the leg and leaving his victim a paraplegic was sentenced to 9-22 years in prison in Chester County court this week.
Anthony C. Brown Jr., 26, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, and related charges.
He was convicted in the shooting of a 39-year-old victim, in the leg, in Coatesville in June 2018 over $200 worth of cocaine, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said. The victim, who is now a paraplegic because of his injuries, gave the defendant an EBT card for cocaine, but the card had no funds.
The defendant shot the victim in retaliation, according to a report from the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
Coatesville Police Department and Chester County Detectives handled the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Daniel Hollander was the prosecutor.
In 2017 Brown pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge of Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver.
