HAMDEN, CT — A total of 6,876 Hamden residents received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Feb. 1, according to the state Department of Public Health. There are 60,556 Hamden residents and 11.35 percent of them have received their first dose of the vaccine. Hamden has 5,199 residents over the age of 75 and 2,412 of them have received their first dose, or 46.39 percent, according to state health officials. In nearby towns, North Haven has disseminated the vaccine to 14 percent of its population, while New Haven is at 7.27 percent, Cheshire is at 13.98 percent, Bethany is at 13.05 percent, Woodbridge is at 19.33 percent and Wallingford is at 13.82 percent.
