Wanda Y. Dunham has over 34 years of transportation experience and 14 of those years as the Assistant General Manager/Chief of Police Department and Emergency Management. In 2006, Chief Dunham made history as the first African American and the first female in the Department’s history to hold the position of Chief.
Dunham began her career as an officer and earned her way up the ladder holding various command and leadership positions including Field Training Officer, Police Instructor, Criminal Investigations, and Internal Affairs Commander, along with Corporal, Sergeant, Captain, Major, Assistant Chief, and Chief during her tenure at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).
Chief Wanda Y. Dunham was named as one of the country’s Most Powerful and Influential Law and Justice Award winners and is an exciting person to watch in the world of law enforcement leadership with a stellar career that spans over 30 years.
