FREMONT, CA — A 25-year-old at-risk woman, Erin Lai, reported missing in Fremont, has been found safe and returned home. Fremont Police put out an appeal to the public Tuesday morning, some 24 hours after she was last seen. Shortly before 1:45 p.m. police reported that she is safe. She had last been seen at 9 a.m. on Monday, near the 48000 block of Purpleleaf Street. She was only wearing a gray T-shirt, purple pajama pants, and no shoes. She left behind her wallet, ID, keys, and cell phone at a residence where she was staying with her brother. The temperature dropped to the low 40s in Fremont overnight and it rained for hours. Police say that she "suffers from an unknown mental health issue and there is concern for her safety." Police did not release specifics about where she spent the night or where she was found.
