BUFFALO GROVE, IL — An arrest has been made from a Monday armed robbery at an AT&T store in Buffalo Grove. Marcus Scott, 37, of Chicago, is accused of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon — a class 3 felony — among other warrant charges out of Chicago, according to a release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Police responded to the store at 55 N McHenry Road at around 5:40 p.m. Monday for a reported armed robbery and found an employee restrained with plastic ties in the restroom. The employee was uninjured and was the only victim of the incident. The store's video surveillance system provided officers with a detailed description of a suspect, armed with what appeared to be a handgun, and leaving with an estimated $57,000 worth of merchandise, according to the release. All merchandise stolen from the AT&T store was recovered, according to police. The Lake County State's Attorney's Office approved a felony warrant for armed robbery and aggravated unlawful restraint, with a $500,000 bond. The Buffalo Grove Police Department plans to serve the warrant upon Scott's release from custody on the CPD charges, according to the release. "The efforts of the Buffalo Grove Police Department, combined with the Chicago Police Department, should be commended for the swift resolution to this incident," the release reads. Stay Patched In!
