TEMPE, AZ — Arizona State University fans will have to wait a while longer to watch Sun Devil basketball. The ASU Athletics Department announced Tuesday that the next two games against Colorado and Utah have been postponed "due to a recent COVID-19 development within [the] program." The games were scheduled for Thursday and Sunday, respectively. The Feb. 17 game against the University of Southern California has not yet been canceled. The school is currently working with the Pac-12 to reschedule the games. ASU said it has and will continue to make every attempt to play previously postponed games versus Utah, Washington, Washington State and Oregon. According to the team's tentative schedule, it would have time to make the games up from March 1 to 6; the Pac-12 is expected to begin in Las Vegas on March 10. It is unclear if any players or staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus or have been exposed. The university has reported a decline in active coronavirus cases. As of Monday, ASU said it had 83 coronavirus cases among its staff and faculty, and 367 cases among its vast student body. Those numbers are down from 100 and 410 in the last weekly update. To date, ASU has won six games and lost six this season.
