Description of Position This job posting is for a full time furniture installation specialist within our contract furniture business unit. This position must be able to read and follow floor plan drawings (training provided) and written instructions necessary to install office furniture and partitions. Successful candidate must be a personable and safety conscious individual with good communication and organization skills and must have a strong mechanical inclination. This position requires routine lifting of office furniture. Normal work hours for this position are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend hours and overnight travel are required with advanced notice. Company Overview Founded in 1978, Office World, Inc. is engaged in two principle areas of business: • Contract furniture sales (commercial office interiors such as partitions, executive offices, lobby furnishings, etc.) within our regional presence • Nationwide general line office products (everyday business supplies) through our growing OfficeWorld.com e-commerce presence Requirements • 2+ years experience in furniture installation, cabinetry manufacturing/installation, or similar • Strong general computer literacy • Proficient in use of Internet & business e-mail applications • Good business communications skills • Detail- & accuracy-orientation • Ability to effectively work with others in a team environment • Positive employment references • Professional appearance, punctual & dependable • High school diploma / GED • Must pass drug screen & criminal background check • 18 years old with valid driver’s license, able to operate company delivery vehicles • A quality individual with positive attitude and willingness to work Compensation Starting hourly rate is $14.50 to $16.00 per hour depending on experience & skills. However, many of our projects are paid at prevailing wage rates. As a result, most Office World furniture installers realize an annual compensation between $35,500 and $45,000 plus benefits (below).
