Job Title: Maintenance Assistant Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30PM possible OT Pay Rate: $20 - $25 depending on experience Job Summary: The Maintenance Facility & EHS Assistant will support the performance of location EHS programs as well as the goal of 95% Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) within the plant environment. To achieve this, core EHS programs and documentation along with the Preventative Maintenance Program & priority schedule must be closely managed. The successful candidate will also participate in several improvement events throughout the year, focusing on safety, quality, on time delivery and cost. Performs a variety of complex, routine clerical tasks, data gathering, and analysis requiring the exercise of discretion and use of judgement. May be assigned tasks in functional areas such as purchasing, engineering support, human resources, administration, manufacturing or other areas. Follows written and verbal direction to assure accuracy and completion of tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Operates general business machines such as computers, copiers, calculators, scanners, or other machines to complete duties. •Provide administrative support to EHS, Maintenance Technicians and Engineers or other functional areas as assigned. •Responsible for maintaining complex files, keeping records, typing, filing, document presentation and preparation as needed. •Assist in creation/update of detailed documentation for various EHS programs including Hazard Communication, Contractor Safety, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Lockout Tagout and various other EHS related topics. •Basic troubleshooting of machinery and equipment problems in the plant. •May independently answer email correspondence: inquiries, complaints or adjustments. •Conduct monthly audits, inspections, data analysis and reporting as required •Assist in/lead new hire EHS training as required •Participate in monthly management safety walks, safety committee meetings and support EHS programs as needed. •Work with manufacturers and/or service departments of suppliers (machinery or equipment) to minimize machine down time. •Create purchase orders to procure all necessary tools, parts, and supplies to keep machines and facility in good working order. •Enter and prioritize Maintenance requests into the plant database (Microsoft Access). •Responsible for all plant hazardous waste material; safe storage and disposal according to EH&S standards. •Manage plant Preventative Maintenance program for Maintenance Department. •Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) events as needed. •Receiving of purchase orders. •Scheduling of vendors, supervisors and technicians repairs. •Reconciliation of purchase order Exceptions as needed. •Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES •Must be self-motivated and work without supervision. •Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. •Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers and vendors. •Ability to effectively problem solve, use critical thinking skills. •Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a project. •Basic knowledge of OSHA general industry Safety and Health regulations •Computer skills: Navigate shared drives, use search engines, basic MS Office knowledge. •Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as needed. •Intermittent walking, use of hand/wrist, and bending/twisting. •Occasional pushing/pulling and crouching and climbing. •Must occasionally carry 1 to 40 lbs. •High School graduate or equivalent.
