Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Material Handler in Twin Falls, ID. Will be working for Idaho Power on a 1500 hour contract. Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pay: $19.23/hour Tasks we want the Contract Worker to do -With limited supervision inspects and verifies accuracy of incoming materials against packing lists, freight tickets, bills of lading, shipping manifests, and purchase orders. -Fills requisitions for materials and supplies by retrieving materials from storage and obtaining proper signatures and authorizations prior to release of the materials. -Using established standards and appropriate rigging, inspects and operates various types of forklifts and man-lift to move, store, retrieve materials, loads/unloads flatbed trailers, cargo trailers and curtain vans. -Inspects and operates light duty trucks to deliver materials and equipment to work crews or other warehouse locations. -Follow processes and record keeping procedures established for Material Handlers to record movement of material. -Inspects, sorts, disassembles, and cleans material as necessary before issuing or storing material according to established warehouse locator system. -Processes materials receipts, issues, returns, and transfer transactions using the Passport inventory module. -Prepares necessary transportation-related documentation, including hazardous materials manifests and bills of lading. -Sorts and prepares incoming materials for storage or disposal, storing materials according to established warehouse locator system. -Assembles and prepares materials for shipment by boxing, crating, or wrapping, in addition to marking, addressing, and making arrangements for transport. -Maintains inside and outside storage areas, including assembly and set-up of various types of racking and bin shelving. -Must obtain and wear approved safety footwear, and, depending on location, other protective clothing and equipment and attend safety training as required. -Requires limited overnight travel to other facilities within the Company warehouse network and be available for after-hours call out. -Assists Materials Coordinator, Area Material Lead, and Material Analysts with inventory cycle counts. -Depending on location: under general supervision, loads/issues new transformer oil from bulk storage tanks into oil tanks and tanker trucks and remove used oil from tanks. -May filter and recondition used oil and drain PCB and PCB contaminated oil in bulk PCB tanks. -Works in the Grounds department to clean and test Grounds and Hot Sticks Protective Equipment for testing. -Build new grounds and hot jumpers to fill additional field orders and replace jumpers that fail testing. -Occasionally will travel to other regions with the Safety Technician to test Hot Sticks. -Will also assist in the Rubber Goods department with shipping, receiving, and washing Protective Equipment. -Depending on location: under general supervision identifies equipment to be refurbished, recycled or disposed and obtain oil samples for PCB analysis. -Disassembles recyclable equipment, drains the oil in preparation for sale, and processes carcasses for disposal according to the Code of Federal Regulations. -Serves as a backup resource to the Sander and Painter positions. -Maintains regular and punctual attendance and performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills -Education: High school diploma or GED. -Experience: One year of materials handling, or utility material & equipment knowledge and experience, or an equivalent combination of appropriate training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. One-year safe forklift operation. Skills: Basic PC operations, including use of Word, Excel, and Outlook (e-mail); effective oral and written communication. -Abilities: Maintain neat, accurate, and legible records; follow oral and written instructions; interact effectively with public, team members, and members of other work teams; perform moderately heavy manual labor. Proper and safe handling, loading/unloading, moving, storing, and shipping of materials. Basic safe use of hand tools and equipment. Preferred Skills -Experience: 4-years of materials handling experience utilizing an electronic inventory management system.
