Loomis is currently seeking a Fleet Mechanic helper to work in our Albuquerque branch. Hourly wage for this position is $13.00/HR and Full time schedule consists of an average of 40 HRS per week for a 5-day period. BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: With the guidance of a Fleet Mechanic, the Mechanic Helper will service and repair fleet vehicles. Majority of work is performed in an enclosed structure and some outdoors also as required. Environment involves chemical handling, gasoline/diesel fumes and intermittent high noise exposure. ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS: • Perform preventive maintenance (lube, oil change, replace belts, hoses, inspect brakes, repack bearings, check. • Assess tires, AC/heat operations and security functions on all size vehicles. • Must perform preventive maintenance on all Loomis vehicles ever month. • Drive automatic vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick-up/delivery of parts. • Perform inventory and order parts, supplies, as needed. PERFORMANCEOF THE ABOVE FUNCTIONS REQUIRES: • Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English). • Ability to write work orders, purchase orders. • Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies. • Possession of valid driver’s license and ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 to 50,000 lbs. in size. • Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 50 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in horizontal position for prolonged periods of time. • Ability to hoist any size vehicle with lift device (vehicle jack) using foot and arm pumping motion. • Ability to lift and hold parts (weighing up to 50 lbs.) in position while lying on back in horizontal position on concrete floor. SKILLS: • Must be at least 21 years of age. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Knowledge of International 4700 Series medium-duty, a plus. • Must have a valid current Driver's License. • Minimum of 3 year's driving experience and a good driving record.
