We are look for a lead guitarist for Guilty Pleasures 80’s Cover Band. What is different about our band? If you grew up in the 80’s and you get a visceral reaction to run out of the room when you hear a cover band playing the song “Jenny” then we should be friends. We are a cover band that is focused on playing those guilty pleasures from the 80’s and 90’s. The kind of songs that got deep rotation on the radio back in the day, but you never hear anymore. These songs live in the deep recesses of your brain. These are the kind of songs when we play a party or gig where once we start playing, the dance floor is packed! We want to play those forgotten gems! What we are: We are an 80’s and 90’s cover band with a couple of modern and older guilty pleasure songs sprinkled in the mix. We play all genres of music with the goal of sharing guilty pleasures from the past and getting people on the dance floor. We all have day jobs and families. We are going to be doing a gig a month starting about May. This is a pandemic so we are trying to be low key but have some fun so by the summer when things hopefully open up we can be ready to play live. What we are not: Are not a cover band that needs to do this for the money. We are not going to play 1-2 gigs a week where we are coming home at 2am. That is not us. We are not going pro and we are not looking at this as a major source of income. What we are looking for: A solid guitarist to meet once a week or every two weeks to practice the songs and to tighten up how we sound. We expect that you will spend some time practicing on your own so that we are progressing and not using band practice to learn all of your parts. You will have plenty of opportunities to showcase your skills. The 80’s were filled with all kinds of great songs with solos. Half of the songs the guitar is lead the other half of the songs the keyboard is lead. This is about having fun. We are looking for someone who is collaborative and fun.
