Join Columbus Gives Back and help Student Success Stores equip youth to be successful in this even more difficult school year! Columbus Gives Back is proud to partner up with the Student Success Stores! Growing their reach and impact significantly, they are now serving 11 schools in Columbus and distributing basic essentials like food, clothing, hygiene, and school items to students in need. Where: 1509 Blatt Blvd is a Commercial Self Storage location. Your event leaders and an SSS board member or intern will meet volunteers in the front of the building, and walk you to the storage unit. When: Saturday, February 27th (9am - 11am) Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Due to the current stay-at-home advisory in place in Franklin county, Columbus Gives Back is limiting the number/type of events on our calendar for the time being. All Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. In an effort to keep our volunteers, event leaders, and non-profit partners safe we ask that each volunteer or event leader sign up for no more than one event in a seven-day period, in order to limit the number of individuals you come into contact with if you are exposed to Covid-19. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About Student Success Stores: By providing students with the basic essentials, Student Success Stores helps ensure each child starts the school day healthy, confident and ready to learn. We need your help to keep the shelves stocked and reach even more students who need our support. About Columbus Gives Back: We love Columbus, young professionals, and getting involved! Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month. #SocialTwist: Social Twists have been suspended until further notice, but typically we will also encourage volunteers to join us afterwards for food and drinks to better get to know the other cool folks in our group! Rather we encourage each of our volunteers to support local business during this time.
