An open dialogue with Cincinnati Art Museum Associate Registrar + Founding Collab//Art Member, Carola Bell on Creativity + Movement
An open dialogue with Cincinnati Art Museum Associate Registrar + Founding Collab//Art Member, Carola Bell on how cultivating a movement practice led to a powerful practice of observation, that in turn, initiated small, creative awakenings.
In early 2020, Carola decided to begin a walking practice. As she deepened her commitment to walking, she started noticing details in her environment — sights, sounds, rhythms — that she had often overlooked. As a participant in Collab’s May self-awareness initiative, EMBODY, Carola began sharing photographs + sentiments from her walks. This activation of “creative mode”, a neurological circumstance that happens when we engage our brain/body in certain ways, initiated a series of wonderful creative outputs + created a generative time in her life that is still happening.
Join us as we dialogue about the intersection of Movement + Creativity, the neuroscience of the 2 + speak openly about our own daily practices that have become spaces for our own growth.
