Description

As an erosion laborer you will work outside in the South Florida weather. We install silt fencing, turbidity barriers, and inlet protection. Many of our sites are undeveloped areas requiring our services to contain erosion around wetlands and construction zones. This person will love the outdoors, hard work, and being part of a team. We have a fun, family atmosphere. Responsibilities include: • Work in a safe and efficient manner, wearing proper protective equipment • Always present a professional and positive attitude with ability to take direction • Regular attendance and on-time per job requirements • Follow instruction from team lead and assist crew members • Determine what equipment is appropriate • Working alongside the crew to install silt fence, inlet protection, best management practices • Use of hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, staple guns, rakes, levels • Load and unload tools and material – able to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance • Ensure job sites are clean and orderly to present to client • Ensure quality to maintain integrity of the work we perform • Proactively clean, grease, and maintain equipment for safe and reliable operation • Work in all weather conditions • Other duties as delegated Qualifications: • High school diploma required; College degree preferred • 1-year experience in landscape, construction, field services, fast paced environment, warehouse, and working outdoors Southwest Site Services is a drug-free work place.
