NAUGATUCK, CT — According to the state Department of Public Health, a total of 2,161 Naugatuck residents have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. There are 31,108 Naugatuck residents and 6.95 percent of them have received their first dose. Naugatuck has 1,802 residents over the age of 75 and 562 of them have received their first dose or 31.1 percent, according to state health officials. And if you're curious, Middlebury has disseminated the vaccine to 13.39 percent of its population, while Waterbury is at 5.54 percent, Oxford is at 11.2 percent and Bethany is at 13 percent. Since the pandemic began in March, Naugatuck has reported 2,523 cases and 80 deaths.
