DANBURY, CT — Police have charged a man with criminal attempt to commit voyeurism after he was accused of placing a video recording device in the female locker room.
On Saturday, the Danbury Police Department arrested Matthew Aaron Cooper, 31, of Noe Pace in Beacon Falls. A woman employee who works at the same local manufacturing business as Cooper was able to "link" the device to him, according to the police report, and the woman's supervisor called the police.
"During the course of the police investigation, evidence was discovered which directly led the responding officers to believe Cooper had placed the recording device in the female locker room to surreptitiously record female employees when they were undressing," according to Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
Based on the findings of the investigation, Cooper was placed under arrest and taken to the Danbury Police Department where he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal attempt to commit voyeurism. After posting a $25,000 bond, Cooper was released and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Feb. 25.
