Press release from the City of Providence: February 1, 2021 PROVIDENCE, RI – A citywide parking ban will remain in effect until 7PM Monday, February 1. Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street through the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed in the wake of the snowstorm. City buildings, including Providence City Hall and 444 Westminster Street, will reopen to limited in-person city services on Tuesday, February 2, aligned with the latest health and safety guidelines. The Providence Public School District has also announced all in-person classes at Providence Public Schools will continue distance learning for the day on Tuesday, February 2, and all PPSD staff members are expected to work remotely. Trash collection will resume on Tuesday, on a holiday schedule, meaning that pick-up will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Youth meal delivery will continue as normally scheduled on Thursday, February 4. Property owners are reminded to please clear sidewalks of snow and ice.
