'Pizza Wars' Fundraiser Takes Online Format In 2021

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — This year, the popular District 99 Pizza Wars won't be held in person, due to the pandemic, but residents can still support District 99 via an online fundraiser. Residents can click the link to donate to the 2021 Pizza Wars fundraiser. Since the tasting portion of the Pizza Wars competition can't go on this year, residents are also encouraged to order from participating pizzerias throughout Downers Grove and Woodridge during the month of February to show their support. 2021's participating pizzerias include: Lou Malnati's Pizzeria Nancy's Pizzeria Papa's Pizza PlaceRosati's Sarpino's Skuddlebutt's Tortorice's Pizzeria Zazzo's Pizza and Catering The Pizza Wars fundraiser benefits the District 99 Education Foundation, which provides grants, scholarships and programming to aid District 99 students. In 2020, the Education Foundation provided over $50,000 to help make face shields for health care workers and give gift cards to families in need throughout the pandemic, in addition to other initiatives.
