Description

DUBLIN, CA — If you're irked by unsightly weeds springing up from the streets, sidewalks and properties of Dublin, you 're not alone and change could be coming soon. On Tuesday, the Dublin City Council is considering a resolution that would declare "weeds and combustible refuse" a public nuisance. That means a fire official could demand that property owners alleviate the debris. If orders are ignored, the city would remove the debris at the property owner's expense, according to the city council agenda item on the matter. The Alameda County Fire Department contracts with the city to provide services and would be responsible for enforcement. The city council would hold a public hearing April 6 to hear public objections to the abatement order.
