Culver City Crossroads February 1, 2021 The breakup of the Soviet Union in December 1991 resulted in a number of newly independent states. One of them, Ukraine, has been in the news for its Orange (2004) and Euromaidan (2013-14) Revolutions, as well as for its current President, the actor and comedian Volodymyr Zelensky from the Servant of the People Party, who used to play the Ukrainian president in the television series Servant of the People, and his phone call with Donald Trump, which led to the American's first impeachment. The next Cold War Spaces guest, Katya Soldak, a Ukraine-born New York-based journalist and editorial director of Forbes Media's international editions, directed the fascinating documentary "The Long Breakup" about Ukraine's path to independence, told from the perspective of herself, her family and her (former) friends.
