UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Destiny the dog got lost Monday morning as the snow blanketed the Upper West Side with a layer of white. Just before 11 a.m., the NYPD 24th Precinct put out a tweet saying that Destiny had been lost for more than three hours and to call the precinct or her owner if she was spotted. LOST DOG Please help us find Destiny & get her reunited with her owner. If found, please call the 24th precinct at 212-678-1811 or her owner at 917-704-0057. pic.twitter.com/Bts0LvRMIU— NYPD 24th Precinct (@NYPD24Pct) February 1, 2021 Multiple tips quickly came in saying that Destiny was running between 98th and 106th Street on Columbus. Luckily, by 8:30 p.m. Monday, the owner of the Australian Shepard, Emma Mix, reached out to the news site ILoveTheUpperWestSide to tell them that Destiny had been found safe and sound. Mix told the news site that Destiny was found under a shrub between West End and Broadway — but did not specify the street. "It was really touching to see the community banding together like that," Mix told ILoveTheUpperWestSide. Destiny's scary saga away from her family comes a month after Luca the Dachshund was swiped from the Garden of Eden Market between 107th and 108th Streets on Broadway. After a few days lost, Luca was returned to her Upper West Side owners, but not after a major effort from the UWS community to help find him.
