TUSCALOOSA, AL — After more than a month on the run from police, Terrence Cortez Williams, 24, was arrested by investigators at a residence in Northport on Wednesday for attempted murder and first-degree robbery in relation to an incident that occurred last Christmas morning. Williams is also accused of murder in an unrelated shooting death in Sumter County on Dec. 31, 2019. Luckily, no one was injured by the gunfire. Investigators eventually made contact with Williams and said they attempted to conduct a traffic stop in front of TPD's East Precinct on University Boulevard East. Williams reportedly refused to stop, driving at speeds of up to 80 mph, before abandoning his car in the area of Third Place East in Alberta. Williams was taken into custody Wednesday by investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department and with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force. According to jail records, bond was set at $60,000 for each of the two felony counts. However, Patch was able to confirm that Williams was also out on bond for a pending murder case in Sumter County at the time of the shooting. Patch has not been able to confirm the current status of the Sumter County nightclub murder case at this time, but court records show District Attorney Greg Griggers filed a motion to have Williams' bond revoked. However, the records do not indicate that a hearing has been held. In that case, the Greene County Sheriff's Department and Sumter County Sheriff's Office said Williams was one of four suspects in the Dec. 31, 2019 murder of Donell 'Big Hoss' Ireland, 24, in a shooting that also resulted in injuries to two other victims who had to be transported to different hospitals by personal vehicles. In that case, the Greene County Democrat first reported that Williams and another man were charged after two initial arrests in the fatal shooting of Ireland at the Miller Hill Night Club that New Year's Eve. Williams was arrested sometime shortly after the shooting by Greene County deputies and 17th Judicial Drug Task Force Agents and charged with a single count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He was later given bond and released. In that case, the newspaper reported that witnesses told investigators a verbal argument started inside the nightclub and eventually made its way out into the parking lot, where the shooting took place.
