Description

My philosophy is "Everything I ever needed to know about business I learned on the sports field." From Behind The Scoreboard, I feature the sports stories that tell us much more than simply who won or lost. These personal and inspiring experiences of grade school, high school, college, other amateur and even pro athletes allow all of us to reflect a little more on what is important in life. ~ James C. Metzger, Chairman and CEO, The Whitmore Agency _______ Bronx Infielder Hopes To Return To Yankee Stadium Motivation! That’s how Andrew Velazquez went from tee-ball to little league to high school baseball and then to the majors. His time in the majors has been fewer than 50 games, but he is hoping to make it back this season with his hometown team. The 26-year-old infielder recently signed a minor league contract with the Yankees. During spring training, we’ll be following and rooting for Andrew. Oh, his favorite player as a child was Derek Jeter. No surprise there, but you’ll need to read my blog to find out why Andrew connected with Derek. You’ll also learn more about his motivation.
