Crop Field/ Sprayer Operator Department: Operations Job Status: Full time or Part time Amount of Travel Required: Average Sprayer Operator/Crop Field Operator POSITION SUMMARY: Sprayer Operators are responsible for daily farm operations including but not limited to driving farm equipment, maintenance support of all farm equipment, operation of large spraying equipment, maintenance, and servicing of irrigation engines and irrigation equipment, maintaining the appearance of the farm, and assisting the supervisors in achieving farm goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : 1. Efficiently and safely perform all crop and field tasks assigned by the supervisor. 2. Utilize farm equipment to perform daily tasks including but not limited to spraying, irrigation, tillage, planting, harvest equipment operation, and mowing. 3. Communicate daily with Supervisor and on scheduling and logistics. 4. Maintain equipment including daily preventative and repair maintenance. 5. Communicate and coordinate with supervisor for large repairs. 6. Utilize technology hardware for efficient task completion and accurate data collection. 7. Maintain the appearance of the farm and landowner properties, as assigned.. 8. Assist with irrigation projects and maintenance, as instructed. 9. Utilize all equipment technology to effectively apply chemicals, fertilizers, and manure. 10. Efficiently and effectively operate any sprayers in the field. 11. Transport equipment as requested. 12. Follow all SOP’s. 13. Conduct and document pre and post equipment use inspections and complete associated recordkeeping. 14. Obtain and update Class A non-commercial driver’s license, or CDL and medical card, as necessary. 15. Assist in writing SOP’s. 16. Assist with all record keeping and report filing. 17. Communicate inventory needs with supervisor. 18. Provide input into improvements for greater efficiency 19. Clean all equipment at the end of each season. 20. Maintain clean and organized the shop. 21. Follow all safety guidelines. 22. Special projects as assigned by supervisor. EDUCATION: High School degree, GED, or trade school certificate. EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of experience with large spraying equipment is required At least 2 years of work with heavy equipment and trucks is required Experience in working with general farm equipment is required SKILLS & ABILITIES: Experience with the safe operation of farm equipment is required Some experience with farm equipment technology is preferred Math skills are required
