The City of Ellensburg is currently accepting applications for temporary laborers. Work will be performed under the direction of the forepersons in the street and parks divisions. Employees in this classification perform various tasks related to the respective division duties. Employment will be 40 hours per week and will vary from a few weeks up to six months and is contingent upon satisfactory performance of assigned duties. These are temporary, non-benefited positions except for earning paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour for every paid forty (40) hours worked. Employees are eligible to begin using accrued paid sick leave on the ninetieth (90th) calendar day after the commencement of his/her employment. Represented by Teamsters Local Union #760. First review of applications will be February 16, 2021 and anticipated start date for several of the positions will be the first/second week of March 2021. Salary: $21.57/hour, 40 hours/week Qualifications: Valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurable driving record. Experience with motorized vehicles and equipment including but not limited to cars, pickup truck, utility truck, small tractors, asphalt roller, plate compactor, chainsaw, airless paint machine, weed cutter, common hand and power tools. Current flagger and first aid certification desirable.
