Looking to volunteer in your community? ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization) provides shelter for some of the homeless men, women, and children in SLO County 365 nights a year. Please consider helping ECHO this winter as we continue to provide services to those in our county who need it the most! ECHO is in urgent need of Orientor Volunteers. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Orientor Volunteer helps train the two to three Overnight Chaperon Volunteers who spend the night and monitor the shelter. The Orientor gives new chaperones a tour of the facility and trains them on their duties for the evening.. The Orientor will also help check in clients staying at the shelter that night and help set up any new individuals or families entering the shelter. This position is best for outgoing people who enjoy socializing with other volunteers and clients. The Orientor Volunteer position is a great chance to interact with the clients staying at the shelter and learn what daily life at a shelter is like. The Orientor shift is 5:30pm-7:00pm. Days will vary. Training Description : Volunteers will have orientation and training before assuming this role. Volunteer Requirements : Must enjoy working with others in a supportive role.
