Well it seems you haven’t been staying up with the latest information and costs of Solar and wind VS Fossil fuels. The cost of solar has dropped significantly since the program Obama tried to institute to the point that solar is very competitive when compared to oil or gas. And all legitimate estimates show that as the technology for solar improves and the demand increases the cost will continue to decline. Now maybe you may have missed it but most of the power utilities are making the move away from oil already to solar. I had to drive from High Point to Statesville last week and was surprised to see all the solar farms on the way. And as more and more utilities make this move the cost will continue to come down. If you combine the unprecedented growth of solar with the new advances in battery technology you will see the smart money going to solar away from fossil fuels. Companies have read the writing on the wall. Fossil fuels are on the way out and the need in the future will be to diversify and find cleaner ways to produce energy. What was GM’s headline last week? “General Motors has announced that it will largely abandon the internal combustion engine by 2035.” Why. Because the smart money is going away from fossil fuels. We can continue to believe the word of the oil companies or we can make the investment into solar, put panels on our roofs and make money for ourselves, have the utility companies pay us for power. (This is once the gov't gets onboard and requires utilities to pay us the going rate for power produced.) The choice is ours. Let's make the smart choice for once.
