The705 Philanthropy Committee is hosting a volunteer letter-writing event to benefit seniors in our community. Calling all letter writers, coloring connoisseurs, and community cheer spreaders. February is all about Kindness. Throughout the month we will be collecting letters and items to deliver to senior facilities to spread kindness during Random Acts of Kindness Week. There are three ways to get involved! Participate In PersonJoin us Saturday February 6th, 2021 9am-12pm and/or Saturday February 13, 2021, 12pm-3pm at the BBB. Participants will Write lettersDraw picturesPackage giftsOrganize donationsThese items will be delivered to senior facilities during Random Act Of Kindness Week. Write & Dropoff LettersThe705 is collecting written letters, cards, drawings, and pictures for our senior community members. Write, color, draw, or donate and dropoff. Each letter will be delivered to a senior in the community. The letters will be assigned randomly, so here are some tips: The text should be encouraging, supporting, or kind in nature, The content should be gender neutral If you want to address the letter to someone, refer to the individual with gender and age neutral terms (for example, Community Member, Friend, Rockstar human. etc.). Donate Items or FundsThe705 is hoping to pair each letter with a gift of a small plush toy or non-slip socks for each senior. We are accepting donations of these items and funds to purchase these items. Help us pair each letter with a small gift by donating to our fundraiser HERE Drop off Feburary 1-13 M-F 9am - 4pm at the Better Business Bureau of Acadiana, 4003 W Congress St, Lafayette, LA 70506. *Email [email protected] if additional dropoff options are needed. *Donations of $100 or more qualify for a tax reciept. We have a goal of 300 letters and gifts. Help us hit our goal and spread kindness in the community!
