Press release from the Town of Wakefield: January 31, 2021 UPDATE: Monday's trash and recycling routes will be completed, but Tuesday's pickup will be delayed until Wednesday. The rest of the week will also be pushed back a day.---In preparation for the upcoming storm, a parking ban has been issued from 5 p.m. on Monday, February 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2. All parked cars must be removed from the roadways to allow plowing crews and public safety vehicles to safely access the roads and perform curb-to-curb cleanup. If your residence does not have a driveway, you are encouraged to connect with your landlord for parking options or coordinate with a neighbor who has extra driveway space. The Department of Public Works and Fire Department appreciate your assistance helping them clear catch basins and hydrants near your home. In 2015, Wakefield lifted its December-to-April on-street parking ban and now enforces parking limitations on an emergency basis. Parking ban announcements and other emergency notifications are made via text, email, and phone through our CodeRED e-alert system. Not signed up? Create a managed account now.
