BOSTON — The city will try to juggle its first round of Phase Two COVID-19 vaccinations and a massive nor'easter ready to drop a foot or more of snow Monday. Boston has already rescheduled appointments at its Roxbury mass vaccination site and closed its Jamaica Plain mobile testing location, but Fenway Park opened an hour early to begin inoculating Boston seniors 75 and older. Appointments set for the Reggie Lewis Center were moved to Feb. 8. Snow has started falling in Boston. Twelve inches — maybe more — of wet, heavy snow could bury the city by midnight. A snow emergency and parking ban for main roads with snow restrictions will go into effect at noon. Parking is banned in Boston Public Schools lots. Boston Public Schools buildings are closed Monday and Tuesday, pushing all scheduled in-person learners remote both days. City Hall is closed Monday, while street sweeping has been canceled until further notice. Regular trash and recycling schedules are carrying on for now. Boston Public Library sites and Boston Centers for Youth and Families community centers are closed. Boston Public Schools meal sites will be open until 2 p.m., but Boston Centers for Youth and Families meal sites and community centers are closed. Mike Carraggi can be reached at [email protected].
