Stratford Snowstorm Update: Trash Collection Delayed

STRATFORD, CT — Trash collection in Stratford will be delayed by one day due to cleanup from the ongoing snowstorm, Mayor Laura Hoydick announced Monday. Snow is expected to impact the region until around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Residents are advised to stay off the roads, if possible, to allow the Public Works Department to clear them. Hoydick shared the following update on Monday afternoon: TRASH COLLECTION In consideration of cleanup from this winter storm, there will be NO REFUSE COLLECTION on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Collections will be back one day- those that should have taken place Tuesday will take place on Wednesday, Wednesday collection on Thursday etc. through to Saturday. TOWN OFFICE SCHEDULES All Town administrative offices are closed to in-person visits and appointments on Monday, Feb. 1. All offices will remain open via remote operation, and personnel will be available by phone or email. Those with business before any Town office should take notice. *IN CONSIDERATION OF THE STORM TAX PAYMENT DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND, 2021.* Online options for tax payment remain available and residents are encouraged to use them. PARKING BAN We have instituted a Parking Ban in Stratford effective 8 a.m. Monday morning, Feb. 1, until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, to facilitate snow removal.
