JOB DESCRIPTION: Warehouse Manager Alpacka expects our warehouse to be a well-oiled machine. Currently, we’re seeking a warehouse manager to manage warehouse operations in our San Jose Fulfillment center. This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time. You will work with an existing staff of material handlers, forklift operators and fulfillment & kitting personnel as well as our executive, planning and inventory control team. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE: *Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, receiving processes, and fulfillment and shipping protocols. *Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing systems, protocols and operational goals. *Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES *Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service. *Schedule and oversee the warehouse team to meet the demands of the fulfillment center, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime. *Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed. Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention. *Oversee and manage safety and cleanliness in the warehouse (5S). SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS -High school diploma or GED -3+ years experience in a warehouse lead role managing hourly employees -Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy -Excellent problem-solving, leadership and communication skills -Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Pivot Tables, etc. -Ability to work with all levels of company staff -Proficiency with warehouse management software -5S & Lean Warehousing Experience -Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback -A love of technology and systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Bilingual (English, Spanish) -Advanced degree in engineering or logistics COVID-19 precautions: -Temperature screenings -Social distancing guidelines in place -Virtual meetings -Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place We look forward to hearing from you.
