This is a full-time/hourly position in the Art Shipping and Handling department of our San Francisco art gallery. We are looking for someone who has some experience in packing and shipping art, or something similar, such as home decoration items. Previous experience working in an art or home decor warehouse would be a great fit. This position's emphasis is on Art Shipping and Handling, which means you will be packing and shipping the artwork that we sell through our website. Sometimes preparing a piece to be shipped requires matting and framing (which we can train you to do). We are looking for someone who is comfortable with being on their feet most of the day, and working with their hands. Much of what we do here is very specific to Lost Art Salon, so you will be learning a great deal. An art background is not required, but enjoying being around art is definitely one of the perks of the job. We are a small team of eight people. Qualifications: Experience with art shipping or a similar background (e.g. experience in the warehouse of a home decoration business) Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision Able to process orders in a timely and accurate manner Basic computer skills and an ability to calculate measurements Able to communicate effectively with colleagues in a professional manner Able to lift heavy objects (25 – 50 lbs.) on a continual basis. Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift.
