NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS NO DRIVER'S LICENSE Isaac Pacey, 44, of the 900 block of S Ardmore, Villa Park, is accused of no driver's license, revoked registration, unlawful display of registration sticker and license, plate, no insurance, expired registration, and was arrested at 8:49 p.m. Jan. 24 at Dundee and Sanders roads. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and he was assigned a court date of March 11. INCIDENTS IDENTITY THEFT Officers were contacted via telephone and took 18 reports from complainants about them receiving correspondence from the Illinois Department of Employment Security regarding their information being used to apply for benefits. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES A Ride Shack Inc. employee, 3100 block of Commercial Avenue, reported at 11:52 a.m. Jan. 23 that a customer placed a cash and credit card deposit down on a vehicle and applied for financing. The customer was then given the vehicle. The employee stated that the customer was not approved for the financing of the vehicle and now they have not been able to contact the customer, who still has the vehicle.A resident in the 1300 block of Coventry Lane called police at 3:50 p.m. Jan. 26 to report that when they arrived home, they found that the side service door to the garage was open. Officers checked the residence and found no indications of criminal activity. THEFT A citizen called police at 2:23 pm. Jan. 23 to report someone removed a piece of construction equipment without permission from a location in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard. DISTURBANCE An employee at Chipotle, 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 7:10 p.m. Jan. 24 that two customers caused a disturbance after a mistake was made with their order. The complainant said that one of the customers threw an empty cup at an employee before leaving. COMPUTER TAMPERING A Toulon Drive resident reported at 5:04 p.m. Jan. 25 that someone hacked into their computer and began opening unwanted videos. The complainant stated that they were then contacted by someone who requested 46 bitcoin from them. The complainant did not pay and closed all of their accounts. SOLICITOR COMPLAINT A Prestwick Lane resident called police at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 25 to report that a male was going door to door passing out flyers for snow removal. Officers located the male and verified that they did not have a valid solicitor's permit. The male was issued a local ordinance citation. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Police responded to a residence in the 3500 block of Laburnum Court at 1:07 p.m. Jan. 26 regarding a burglar alarm. Upon arrival, officers found an open front door. Officers checked the location and no one was located within the residence. The homeowner related that several items appeared to be missing. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT A citizen reported at 7:56 p.m. Jan. 26 that there was new graffiti on a utility box in the 2100 block of Cherry Lane. A citizen called police at 9:43 a.m. Jan. 28 to report that there was new graffiti on a utility box on the east side of the building at the 1700 block of Walters Avenue. HARASSING TELEPHONE CALLS An employee at BP Amoco, 1900 block of Willow Road, reported at 1:26 p.m. Jan. 27 that an unknown male had been repeatedly calling and using abusive language to employees and then hanging up. THEFT OF LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY A citizen called police on Jan. 26 to report that between 5:45-6 p.m. someone took their toboggan that was placed near the maintenance building at Wood Oaks Park, 1100 block of Sanders Road.
