Park District Resumes Indoor Programs

LEMONT, IL — Now that suburban Cook County is in under Tier 1 health mitigations, Lemont Park District has resumed indoor programming, reopened the Centennial Community Center, and increased capacity for fitness classes. According to an update from the park district, in-person indoor programming and sports have now resumed, although masks and social distancing are required. Indoor programs are limited to 50 percent of room capacity or 50 people, whatever is less, and special events remain at 25 people maximum. At the CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex, the fitness center is open for members only, as well as individual lap swim. Members don't have to make a reservation for the fitness center anymore, but still must register for lap swim, according to the park district website. Fitness classes are for CORE-Fit members only and reservations and face masks are required. To move from Tier 1 to Phase 4, Region 10, which Lemont is a part of, will need to have the following: Test positivity rate less than or equal to 6.5 percent for three consecutive daysStaffed ICU bed availability greater than 20 percent for three consecutive daysNo sustained increase in COVID-19 patients in hospitals
