The Miller Lumber Company is a family-owned business operating in Central Oregon since 1911. Miller Lumber is seeking safety-oriented yard associates to assist customers, load deliveries, stage orders, stock inventory, and maintain yard cleanliness. Work is performed outdoors year-round at our Bend location. An application can be found at our Bend location or at Requirements: ​ - Excellent customer service skills; team player able to work professionally and positively with coworkers and members of the public. - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 90 pounds. - Knowledge of safety procedures while performing materials handling tasks. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check. - Minimum age requirement 18 years old. Preferred: - Forklift certification is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate. - Lumber, hardware, and other building material knowledge is a plus, but not required if motivated to learn. Job Duties: - Assist customers. Safely, accurately and efficiently load customer vehicles. - Accurately Stage orders for delivery - Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work. - Check receiving paperwork for accuracy, Reviews materials loaded against invoice or requisition; completes and routes paperwork appropriately. - Load and off-load delivery trucks both by hand and with a forklift, Move product/material throughout the yard. - Other duties as assigned. - We offer a competitive wage, depending on experience, with flexible scheduling and the opportunity for overtime pay. This is a full-time position (though part time will be considered) with a 90 day trial period. Typical shifts run between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.
