We strive to make every customer’s experience here with us, a good and happy one! We often have to multitask, problem solve and use great customer communication skills at any given time, and for that, we must be ready for any issue by having a personable attitude and patience while handling the task or problem promptly! That attitude must also reflect onto our team as we hope to have a strong group of employees open for conversion and room to grow. We are hoping to find employees who are 18yrs+ with 2 or more years of knowledge or experience in any background, which is *highly requested*, that may be work, DIY or building, etc. as we are looking for someone with basic knowledge in each (or most of) our inventory categories: lumber, electrical, plumbing, feed, paint, power tools, hand tools, nails & screws, etc. and although it is not a full requirement, we are however looking for those who also have extended knowledge in multiple or any categories. It is equally as important to be team oriented, as it is to be able to work independently. We typically work alone in most cases, although there will be times you will be expected to work alongside others either teaching, learning or working on a project. When working independently, we expect that you would be able to handle most tasks alone, multi-task, problem solve, stay efficient all while completing tasks in a timely manner, but more importantly asking for help when necessary as your safety as well as knowledge about the store is our priority! This is a full time position and we are looking for someone who is dependable with a great record of attendance! Our team has proven to be very dependable and hard working and we look forward to adding someone to the crew that we can all count on to show up to every shift, on time, ready to work a full day.. OSHA approved footwear is necessary when working in the yard, your safety is a priority and you will need to come prepared with shoes that will protect you in the event of having a heavy object fall or drop on your feet, etc. A tape measure is our #1 used tool and you will need to be able to use and read a tape measure in the event of finding the correct size piece, if you need to cut any lumber or to check any brick and building blocks, or any other item that may be bought by the size. Forklift certification is needed for outside employees who will be working on the fork lifts. Again, the safety of our team is our priority and important to us that we have an accident-free workplace, and that starts with proper education and following safety protocols. Lifting 50lbs or more is something our yard staff does several times a day, every day. Whether you are lifting a bag of cement, large building blocks, a sheet of plywood (although not heavy, they are somewhat of an awkwardly large item to carry) you will need to be able to carry most items unassisted.
