We are a major retailer that has been designing and manufacturing visual displays for financial institutions nationwide for over 40 years. We are seeking a motivated team member to join us in our Logan Square office. If you have experience in shipping and receiving, have a positive attitude, and you are willing to learn our process, we want to hear from you! This is a great opportunity if you live in the Logan Square or Humboldt Park areas.
Responsibilities include:
• Recording. Accurate shipment information is vital. You’ll note package information in our computer system and help maintain up-to-date records of what shipped to which customer and the day it was sent and received.
• Labeling. Proper labels are required to ensure shipments are delivered correctly. You will make sure that packages contain the correct address and any special delivery instructions.
• Pulling Inventory and Stocking New Products. You will physically take items from the company’s stock or from the manufacturing line to fill orders.
• Receiving. You will assist with receiving parcels and packages and perform light-duty assembly work as needed.
• Packaging. You will properly package products in appropriate boxes or other shipping containers using the best placement and cushioning for a safe journey to the customers. You will keep track of packing supply inventories and order more as needed.
• Arranging Pick-Up. If packages are to be picked up by a third-party service, such as UPS, FedEx or a contract hauler, you will schedule and monitor the exchange.
