I used to spend hours between stacks of books in the Philosophy and Metaphysics sections of bookstores, flipping through chapter after chapter of new age prose, trying to reconcile the magical reality these books indicated with my lived experience outside the fantasy realm of these books. There was quite a gap, as you can imagine. When I finally started to actually experience what those books were merely pointing at, I stopped reading those books. I started pursuing teachings by living masters that can impact me directly, whose teachings produced actual changes in my lived experience. Then I came into contact with the Modern Mystery School, and only looked back once. Honestly, I wasn't sure if this was the real deal. A REAL mystery school? With REAL magickal teachings?
