Join Johnson PhotoImaging and Tamron for an early morning photo shoot at Fort DeSoto. An excellent opportunity for some fantastic pictures of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and some of our feathered friends.
Tamron will be there with an assortment of lenses to choose from to use during the event. Available lens mounts will be for Canon, Nikon, and Sony only. Lenses are available only as a first-come, first-served. Nikon and Canon Mirrorless owners will need to bring their adapters.
Recommended Gear: Bring a long lens, at least 400mm, and a camera with manual settings - Canon, Nikon, Sony, or Olympus. Also, bring a sturdy tripod. Optional gear - A gimbal would help for longer lenses like the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2.
Where: Fort DeSoto Park - The park opens at 7:00 AM. We plan to get there at 6:30 AM and wait until the park opens, then head to the roundabout at East Beach on the East side facing the Skyway. That's where we will begin.
Directions: Take the next left turn after the pay booth. Take the road to the roundabout at the end. The road is called Anderson Rd, and it may not be marked.
There are no fees for this event - However, there are tolls and park fees to consider.
We will be at East beach until 8 AM and then head over to North Beach. We will be wrapping up at 9:30 AM.
