Description
Lumme Health is a digital health company that uses gesture recognition technology on an ordinary smartwatch to detect targeted behaviors such as eating, drinking and smoking from hand motions. Our current research study (Detecting Eating Episodes Using Wearable Sensors) is open to all individuals over 18.
We pay $15 for each video-taped meal. These are technical recordings using a data collection smartphone app that simultaneously captures video data along with smartwatch sensor data readings.
Enjoy your meal at our offices in a quiet and socially distanced setting.
A consent form is required, but participation is anonymous. No personally identifiable information is associated with your video recording.
Payment can be made in cash or Amazon gift card at the end of the meal.
It normally takes 20-30 minutes to finish a meal.
As long as you are eating different foods you can participate multiple times.
We can accommodate up to 2 people at a time in a socially-distanced setting, so you must book your time for lunch or dinner in advance. Available timings are Mon-Fri from 12pm - 6pm.
You must bring your own meal. However, we encourage everyone to enjoy one more of the individually packaged snack items available.
Simply email us when you'd like to come in to have your meal. Bring a friend to participate at the same time! We'll confirm availability and provide check-in details.
The following website is devoted to the study:
The video describes the DIY version of the study, but is still very helpful.
Don't be shy. All are welcome. These are scientific studies so we appreciate a diversity of people.
