For over a century, Spilker Farms has operated a successful farming operation in rural Nebraska (near Fairbury). Over the past 100+ years, the farm has grown to over 5,000 acres. This growth has led to needing additional help with the daily operations. Currently, there are 5 full time team members on the farm, including the operator/owner and his son. Spilker Farms takes great pride in a growing operation, exceptional equipment care, stewardship of the land, hard work and being a part of the critical agricultural industry. The Position Are you looking for a position that offers a variety of work, learning new trades, working out of doors and with exceptional co-workers and equipment? As a farm operations employee on Spilker Farms, you will have the opportunity to: - Work on and maintain exceptional (John Deere) equipment - Cultivate and develop the land during planting, growing and harvest seasons - Learn the operations of a successful farm - Expand your knowledge of row crops, fertilizer, equipment and irrigation This team member is a salaried position with starting annual wages $38,000+ and is determined by previous experience. Requirements: This hard-working position, often includes long hours during busy times (6-7 days/week during planting and harvest season, 10+hours per day possible). Must be able to do various tasks involving physical activity. Reliable transportation to work is a must. A valid CDL license with a clean driving record is preferred but previous experience operating semi trucks may be acceptable with the right candidate. Some farm experience especially with large machinery like tractors, planters, sprayers, grain carts, combines, etc. and mechanical skills is also preferred. Like working with people that love farming and being outside. Positive attitude and works easily with others Detail-oriented (particular about equipment care, following instructions, carrying out directions) Consistently being to work early or on time, willingness to work longer hours when needed, honesty and trustworthiness Additional Information: There is an opportunity to be a partner in the operation down the road if commitment, dedication and hard work are displayed. We don't currently offer housing directly but can help with securing housing if needed. Serious applicants only.
