Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting free cardiovascular screenings on Tuesday, February 23 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. & Thursday, February 25 from 8-11:30 a.m. at 1325 Wright Avenue in Crowley.
Guests will receive a complimentary electrocardiogram (EKG) and ankle brachial index (ABI) screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. An ABI simple, painless exam is used to test the blood flow in the legs to determine risk of vascular disease.
Results will be reviewed on site. Risk factors of vascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
Registration is required. Please register here for the Thursday, February 25th screening. Call (985) 873-5058 with any questions.
